49.57

Before dominating the 800m, Mu showed her 400m versatility with 49.57. She later won Olympic gold in the 800m at Tokyo 2020 and is widely regarded as one of America's greatest middle-distance talents.

Fred Kerley

Texas A&M · 2017

44.10

Kerley's 44.10 was a sign of things to come. He transitioned to the sprints and became World 100m champion in 2022, one of the most successful event changes in modern track history.

43.85

Ross ran 43.85 for NC A&T — a historically Black university — making it one of the most celebrated championship results in recent collegiate track history.
